This week, my family celebrated Yes Day, which a very special day when my mom has to say yes to anything that my brother or sister or I ask for! It's one of the best days of the year!! One of the things that I asked for on Yes Day was to go to dinner at Mistral. Mistral is a very special restaurant. I'd been there before when I was little and I went there on my 6th birthday. It's a favorite in my family. And even though my mom doesn't usually eat red meat, she had steak there almost every Friday night when my sister lived in her tummy, so sometimes we joke that my sister is made of Mistral steak!
When we went on Yes Day, we sat in the lounge, which is very nice. There are only a few tables and they each have chairs on one side and a bench on the other. There are lots of comfy pillows, which were great for helping me get closer to the table! Their servers were very friendly and helpful and came to check on us lots. A server came to our table to help with water probably one minute after we sat down!
After we ordered, we started with a loaf of hot bread from the kitchen. It came with a bean dip and butter. I don't really like butter because I don't think it adds that much flavor, but I loved the bean dip. It tasted a lot like hummus.

After that, my brother and I both started with Maine Crab Ravioli with Rock Crab, Thyme and Tomato Broth. It was super good. It was soaked in a buttery, nice broth with chopped tomatoes and it had very delicious tender crab meat in it. The pasta was also perfectly chewy and fresh.

After that I shared Dover Sole Meuniere with Lemon and Capers and Saute of Spinach and Onions with my mom. The fish was very delicate and mild but still flavorful. And the sauce was really good and I loved the spinach. My parents and I think this is the best Dover sole in Boston.

My brother and sister shared a pizza with tomato, mozzarella and oregano. The pizzas at Mistral have a thin crust and are cooked on the grill. My brother thought that the pizza was very good. My dad had the leftovers at home and he said that it was fantastic. He especially liked the cheese mix.

We brought home Chilled Corn Soup with Maine Lobster, Avocado and Jalapeno Oil and Sushi Grade Tuna Tartare with Crispy Wontons, Ginger and Soy for my dad. We don't have pictures of those though, because my dad ate them later. But he said that the tuna tartare from Mistral is always really good and he especially likes the soy broth. He didn't like the soup as much, but I don't think that it is fair to judge a restaurant based on take-out anyway, because that is not how chefs intend for their food to be eaten.
We didn't get dessert because as part of Yes Day, we'd already asked my mom to make fruit cobbler, so we had that waiting for us at home. My mom's cobbler tastes really good and I think it tastes extra good because it has love from my mom in it!! But I'm sure that the desserts at Mistral are great too!
l love Mistral and can't wait to go back there. It's a very special restaurant. And if there are any kids reading this post, you should definitely keep Mistral in mind if your family ever does Yes Day!!!!

Everything looks incredible - I could go for a pizza from Mistral right about now! It is so special that your family has "Yes Day" - what an exciting time!
